Picking the perfect pumpkin can have its challenges.
Maybe you need a giant pumpkin to carve the most massive jack-o-lantern on your street. Or perhaps your family is more into painting pumpkins, so you’re looking for a perfectly symmetrical pumpkin.
It doesn’t matter what kind of pumpkin you’re searching for, you can bet that you’ll find it at one of these pumpkin patches around Central Ohio. Walking in to buy a pumpkin is free at several of these farms; the admission fee, where there’s one, covers the hayrides and the rest of the activities. Dates and prices below were checked in mid-October. Farms change them with the weather, so their Facebook pages have the final word.

Lehner’s grows about 30 acres of pumpkins and gourds. There are pre-picked and washed pumpkins in the yard, or you can head out to the 15-acre patch to pick your own. The 2026 season runs September 19th through October 31st. Saturdays and Sundays have everything running, and Tuesday through Thursday evenings are a cheaper session with fewer activities. The farm also opens select Mondays and Fridays in October as bonus days, listed on its calendar. Admission is $14 on weekends and bonus days and $7 on weeknights, and it’s free if all you’re doing is buying pumpkins from the yard or shopping the gift shop. Picking from the patch is free on weeknights too, but on weekends and bonus days it takes a paid admission.

No matter what you need a pumpkin for, you can find it at Miller’s Country Gardens. There’s a huge pile of pre-picked pumpkins to dig through any day the market’s open, and on Saturdays and Sundays in October the hay wagon runs out to the field for pick-your-own. It’s closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
Location: 2492 St. Rt. 37 West, Delaware

Hann Farms Market on Lockbourne Road is a seasonal farm market, and by fall the tables are stacked with pumpkins of every shape and size along with gourds, corn stalks and straw bales. The pumpkins here are already gathered from the field, so you can grab one without a hayride attached. They take cash and checks with ID, and credit cards and Apple Pay now work too.
Location: 4600 Lockbourne Rd, Columbus

This family farm has grown produce in Plain City since 1987. The market on Hyland-Croy Road runs from early May through November and is closed Sunday and Monday. In October it stocks pumpkins, winter squash, apples and apple cider. Pick-your-own happens at a separate 15-acre patch at 11430 Industrial Parkway in Marysville, not at the market, so be sure to plug in the right address.
Location: 7437 Hyland-Croy Rd, Plain City

Lynd Fruit Farm offers both pre-picked pumpkins at the Market on Morse and pick-your-own in several patches on the main farm in Pataskala. The patches opened September 24th this year and run Thursdays through Sundays as long as the pumpkins last, so check the ticker on the farm’s website before you drive out. There’s a $15 per car fee, waived when you buy at least $15 worth of pumpkins. While you’re out there, Maze Fest runs down the road at 9851 Morse Road, Fridays through Sundays until November 1st.
Location: 9399 Morse Rd SW, Pataskala

Pigeon Roost Farm is open Wednesday through Sunday, September 12th through October 31st. The pumpkins are brought in from the fields and laid out in the barnyard, and browsing the market and the pumpkin area is free. The Great Pumpkin Fun Center is $12 a person, under 2 free, and covers the corn maze and more than 30 activities, giant saucer swings and gerbil wheels among them. The farm takes credit cards only, no cash.
Location: 4413 National Rd SW, Hebron

Leeds Farm in Ostrander runs weekends only, September 19th through October 25th, plus one Friday on October 16th. General admission in October is $20 online or $24 at the gate, adults 55 and over pay $5, and the Big Zip costs extra. The pumpkin fields aren’t open for picking because they rotate with other crops, so you choose from pre-picked pumpkins in the barnyard. Admission also covers the hayride, the combine slide, the pig races and the tree house.
Location: 8738 Marysville Rd, Ostrander

Hidden Creek Farms has been sold after 25 years. The activities are no more, and so are the school tours. The farm market on the property, now Bambi’s Farm Market II, is still open every day and sells pumpkins and other fall items.
Location: 581 S Galena Rd, Sunbury

Ready to get lost in a corn maze or ride the Cow-train? Van Buren Acres runs September 12th through November 1st, Wednesday through Sunday, weather permitting. Admission is $12 with kids 2 and under free, and it covers the maze, the jumping pillow, the hayrides and most everything else on the farm. You don’t need a ticket just to pick pumpkins from the U-Pick field, eat at the Barnyard Cafe or shop the store. A $28 season pass throws in a coupon for one U-Pick pumpkin.
Location: 5066 Keller Road, Hebron

Circle S Farms is home to one of my favorite pumpkin patches around Central Ohio. That may be because I grew up going here with my family, or just because it’s awesome. Either way, it should definitely make your shortlist of pumpkin patch contenders. Take the hayride and enjoy a full day of fall at the farm. Pumpkin season started September 24th this year, and the farm is open Thursday through Sunday until October 25th. General admission is $11 (kids 2 and under free) and covers the hayride, the fun barn, the corn maze and the bale crawl; pumpkins are $5 each on top. They take cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay, no checks.
Location: 9015 London Groveport Rd, Grove City

The wagon at Lohstroh Family Farms runs out to the pumpkin patch all day on Saturdays and Sundays, September 19th through November 1st, and you pick your own right off the vine. There’s also a Friday run on October 23rd. There’s no general admission or parking fee. The pumpkin wagon is $11 a person and includes your pumpkin, kids 1 and under ride free without one, and the corn maze and tractor train are $4 each.
Location: 15632 State Route 56 SE, Mt. Sterling

Dupler’s charges $5 a person for the activity wristband, kids 2 and under free, with weekend wagon rides $3 extra. The pumpkins are priced one by one on looks and stem rather than by weight, and the specialty patch runs to pink, blue, white and red. The farm runs every day through October 31st and doesn’t open until noon except on Saturdays. The mystery maze, the giant slides, the duck races and the animals are all on the wristband.
Location: 5766 Jacksontown Rd, Newark
Website: Dupler’s Pumpkin Land

The Orchard & Company is the apple-picking farm on U.S. 42 that also does pumpkins, so one trip covers both. Pumpkins are sold from the straw-castle display. The farmyard pass is $15 (seniors $5, 2 and under free) and buys the tractor-drawn wagon ride, the corn pit, the jumping pillows and the zip line; you don’t need it to buy pumpkins or apples. The farm is open Saturdays and Sundays only through October 31st and closes early at 3 on Halloween. The cafe sells pumpkin donuts.
