StormTracker8: Haze and smoke tonight over Central Virginia

Posted

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -Hazy & Smokey skies will continue over the due northwesterly winds aloft bringing this down from the wildfires in Canada.

Will this is very high in the atmosphere, it will obscure the sun and prevent us from seeing clear blue skies.   Additionally, it will act to keep our temperatures a little cooler.

Tonight, our lows will fall back to around 60 degrees.

Wednesday, a weather disturbance will cross through the region during the afternoon and evening hours.   So not only will we have the smoke to deal with, but there will also be clouds over us.

As for the chances of rain, it looks to be concentrated in the southern half of the state.  The risk is not very high for the showers, as they will be more of the hit and miss variety.

Thursday, it will be back to the hazy sunshine and partly cloudy conditions over the area.  Expect mild weather over us with high around 80.

For the weekend, we are going to be heating up so that we reach the mid to upper 80s on both Saturday and Sunday in the area.

By Sunday afternoon a few showers and storms could pop up to the west of us.  A cold front crossing the area on Monday should bring showers and thunderstorms with it.   That will bring our highs back to around 80 for the first half of next week.
